Hope CommUniversity is a grassroots initiative housed within Hope Community Center (HCC), a trusted institution dedicated to social justice and immigrant rights. HCU was created in response to the urgent need for sustained youth leadership in advocacy, organizing, and movement-building.
We exist to train and develop young leaders who are ready to take action and drive meaningful change. Our work is deeply rooted in the realities of Florida’s political landscape, where policies directly impact the lives of young people and marginalized communities. Through training, mentorship, and hands-on organizing experience, we equip the next generation with the skills they need to fight for justice.
Our Vision
We believe in a world where young people are not just participants in democracy—they are leaders shaping its future. We see our work as part of a larger strategy to build power across communities, ensuring that those most impacted by systemic injustice have the tools to fight back.
Our Approach
We operate with three core strategies:
Recruit: Identifying young people who are already taking action and inviting them into structured leadership development.
Train: Providing high-quality, immersive training experiences that build skills in advocacy, organizing, and strategic action.
Mobilize: Creating opportunities for young leaders to apply their skills in real-world organizing efforts.
